What’s the point of “The Wrath of Becky,” a toothless revenge fantasy pitting a teenage girl against a cabin full of Neo-Nazis? “The Wrath of Becky” picks up after Becky, the promising but disappointing 2020 revenge fantasy that introduced viewers to Becky (Lulu Wilson), a teenage killing machine who stalks and kills a group of skinheads.

Nazis are just another genre trope in both films as it never truly matters that Wilson’s avenging angel has beef with a nationalist militia group called the Noble Men. Neo-Nazi twerps are easy targets, making it almost too convenient to root for their cartoonish destruction. Perhaps still saying that, in both “Becky” and “The Wrath of Becky,” Wilson’s characters also have to lose a loved one before she eagerly kills wannabe fascists. It’s not enough that idiotic thugs replace actual American hate groups, including QAnon and the Proud Boys, this time around, just like last time, it’s personal.

“The Wrath of Becky” redundantly revisits the dramatic setup of the first film: Becky (still Wilson), now three years older (16), witnesses another gang of white supremacists killing a beloved guardian. At least in “Becky,” the sudden and seemingly random murder of Becky’s biological father, Jeff (Joel McHale), is one more cosmic injustice, according to the emotional logic of 13-year-old Becky (Before Jeff started, he tried to get Becky to stop sulking and befriend her stepmother and new stepbrother).
